Below we present to you the most important elements that a website must have in order to perform better in search engines and improve its position in the ranking in relation to the competition. In addition, it is the minimum necessary information that it must have in order not to face legal issues (GDPR).

  1. Responsive Design: must adapt properly to all mobile devices. To load quickly on mobile phones and smartphones without consuming a lot of data from 3g/4g connections. All modern websites now have responsive design. If your website is over 10 years old, it may need an upgrade.

  2. Privacy Policy / Cookies Policy / GDPR: to have the appropriate cookie popup that will indicate which cookies the website uses to collect data from the user, and what is the cookie retention policy. In addition, have a privacy policy and refer to the protection of personal data and the laws of GDPRand how the company complies with them.

  3. Reporting Business Details: all business details must be listed either in the Footer of the website or in the contact form or in the terms of use/privacy policy. Details that must be displayed are the name, the address of the headquarters, contact numbers and e-mail.

  4. Google reCaptcha protection: All websites with a contact form or membership registration form must have Google protection reCaptcha to prevent auto-registration robots, or spam.

  5. Link to Google Analytics: They must be linked to Google Analytics with the appropriate code so that to record traffic statistics, demographic data of visitors, etc. so that the entrepreneur has an idea of the performance of his website in search engines and has detailed statistics to see if his advertisements are performing.

  6. Contact Form with Brand of the business: The visitor must be able to locate the business on the map, or be able to use the contact form to send an e-mail to the company. In addition, it is advisable to indicate the business hours and contact telephone numbers.

  7. Company Profile – Corporate Identity: Pages should be designed where the company profile will be written business, the services provided and the products.

  8. E-shop: Returns Policy / Payment and Shipping Methods: Especially in e-shops must be listed on separate pages, the available shipping and payment methods of the order as well as the return / order cancellation policies, based on the law.

  9. Social Profile Links: If you have created a profile on social media such as e.g. Facebook page or YouTube channel, it is advisable to have some links in the form of icons for someone to find through your website, your profile on social networks. In addition, you can have share buttons on the article pages or on the products of your e-shop.
